FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Real questions. Straight answers.

Everything you need to know before starting GLP-1 therapy with Welling Health.

GETTING STARTED
Who qualifies for GLP-1 therapy at Welling Health?

Adults with a BMI of 27+ (or 25+ with a weight-related condition like prediabetes, hypertension, or PCOS) typically qualify. A US-licensed clinician reviews every intake individually.

How long does it take to get started?

Intake takes about 5 minutes. A clinician reviews within 24 hours. If approved, your medication ships within 1-2 business days and arrives in 5-7 days.

Do I need a referral or existing prescription?

No. Welling Health handles the full clinical process — intake, clinician review, prescription, and pharmacy. No referral needed.

What states do you serve?

All 50 US states. Welling Health clinicians are licensed to prescribe in every state.

THE MEDICATION
What's the difference between compounded and brand-name semaglutide?

The active molecule is identical. Compounded semaglutide is made by a 503A pharmacy for your specific prescription. Brand-name Wegovy/Ozempic costs $900–$1,300+/month without insurance. Compounded is $190/month at Welling.

Is compounded semaglutide safe?

When compounded by a LegitScript-certified 503A pharmacy using FDA-registered API, yes. The key is verifying the pharmacy's credentials — which Welling Health has done. We publish our pharmacy's LegitScript status on our clinic page.

What doses are available?

All standard titration doses for semaglutide (0.25mg through 2.4mg) and tirzepatide (2.5mg through 15mg). Your clinician determines your starting dose and titration schedule.

What if semaglutide doesn't work for me?

Your clinician can adjust your dose, titration schedule, or recommend switching to tirzepatide. Some patients respond better to tirzepatide's dual GLP-1/GIP mechanism.

PRICING & INSURANCE
How much does it cost?

Semaglutide starts at $190/month. Tirzepatide starts at $275/month. Both include medication, clinician access, shipping, and the free AI macro tracker app. Earn up to 30% off with streak discounts.

Do you accept insurance?

No. Welling Health is cash-pay only. This keeps pricing transparent and avoids the prior authorization delays that delay treatment by weeks.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. Your monthly rate covers everything — medication, clinician review, shipping, and the AI coaching app.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. No contracts, no cancellation fees. Cancel before your next billing date.

THE AI COACHING APP
What is the AI macro tracker?

A free app included with every Welling Health plan. Tracks protein and macros, provides AI-driven coaching, and includes a streak system that earns you discounts the longer you stay consistent.

Do I need to use the app?

It's included free and we recommend it — patients who track protein consistently preserve more muscle on GLP-1 therapy. But it's not required.

Is the AI coaching a replacement for my clinician?

No. The AI coaching handles between-visit accountability (protein tracking, habit prompts, progress logging). Clinical decisions — dose changes, side effect management — are handled by your US-licensed clinician.

SAFETY & TRUST
What is a 503A pharmacy?

A 503A pharmacy is a state-licensed compounding pharmacy that compounds medications for individual patient prescriptions, under a valid prescription from a licensed clinician. Welling Health's pharmacy partner is LegitScript-certified.

What does LegitScript certified mean?

LegitScript is the same certification required by Google and Meta for healthcare advertisers. It requires annual audits, verified pharmacy partnerships, prescription verification, and HIPAA compliance. Very few telehealth GLP-1 clinics hold it.

What are the side effects of semaglutide?

The most common are nausea, constipation, and reduced appetite — particularly in the first 4-8 weeks. Most resolve as your body adjusts. Your clinician provides titration guidance to minimize side effects.

Can I use GLP-1 medications if I have other health conditions?

Depends on the condition. Absolute contraindications include personal/family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or MEN2 syndrome. All other conditions are reviewed individually by your clinician during intake.

Ready to get started?

Five-minute intake. Clinician review within 24 hours. Delivered in 5–7 days.
